The spring semester is quickly coming to an end and concert season is just on the horizon. This is big news for West Liberty’s own Chaos Killed, a local band made up of Anthony Rees, Joshua Revels and Josh Jenkins.
They are trying to claim a spot on the annual Vans Warped Tour, a nation-wide music festival, which will make its stop at the First Niagara Pavilion in Burgettstown, PA on July 7.
Chaos Killed is currently participating in an online Battle of the Bands competition, which is sponsored by guitar string and accessory company Ernie Ball. An unlimited number of bands were eligible for the competition, but only 100 from each venue are selected to advance to the second round based on the amount of votes the band receives on its web page.
In the final round of voting, the judges will choose only four bands from the group of 100 to play on the “Ernie Ball Battle of the Bands” stage at Warped Tour.
“We see this as an opportunity to be heard by more people and as an opportunity to open for bands around the Pittsburgh area” said Jenkins, vocalist and guitarist for Chaos Killed.
Chaos Killed is no stranger to the Pittsburgh music scene, having won a previous Battle of the Bands competition in Pittsburgh and also distributing free CDs at last year’s Warped Tour.
Drummer Revels said, “We gave away free CDs at last year’s show and got some feedback on Myspace from a couple people”.
To give Chaos Killed your vote, go online to www.battleofthebands.com and register an account to become a fan and vote for Chaos Killed. Fans can vote daily on the site until two weeks before the July 7 show.
