Anything Goes: Sports Column

By Kyle Lutz, Sports Editor

The NBA season is winding down and it is almost playoff time.

Now this is the time that I really get into watching basketball.

I DO watch the NBA during the regular season, but I do not watch it as much.

This is because playoffs are either “win the series or go home and wait until next year.”

If the NBA playoffs this year are anything like last year’s, all of us sports fans will be in for a real treat.

Last year, the finals came down to the Dallas Mavericks  the Miami Heat.

In an exciting six game series, the Mavericks were able to outlast the Heat.

Like always, it is tough to repeat as world champions in any sport, and it is always tough to get back to a championship after a loss.

Even though Dallas is a playoff contender right now, I do not see them making it past the first round.

Miami, however, I do see making it back to the finals. However, Lebron will have to wait another year to try on that ring (nothing against him).

Miami is a tough team, but they have been struggling on the road, and a team cannot do that against a legitimate team.

My prediction is that the Oklahoma City Thunder will be taking home the hardware.

I just hope we can see a game seven in the championship between the Thunder and the Heat. We will if my prediction is correct.
