Learning Center finds a new home
The Learning and Student Development Center has revamped itself over the course of the summer by relocating to the east wing of Main Hall in room 147, where the Registrar’s Office was previously located, and by providing countless opportunities that students can now take advantage of.

Washington Center Internship Program
The Washington Center for Internships and Academic Seminars (TWC) granted four West Liberty University students a 10-week internship in the nation’s capital during the summer of 2012. Francesca Miller, James Bolton, Tyler Rogers and Jessica Crighton held different positions in the Washington D.C. area and received academic credit for their internship work assigned through TWC.
2012 Culture Fair
The WLU International Club hosted the fourth annual Culture Fair Wednesday, Oct. 3 in the ballroom of the Student Union. International students from around the globe had tables set up to inform students of their home country and show artifacts and symbols from their place of birth.

Professor receives funding for research
West Liberty University Assistant Professor of Biology Dr. Joseph Horzempa has been awarded half a million dollars spread over two grants to conduct research on a pathogen known as Francisella tularensis.
Students excel at theater competition
While the majority of West Liberty University’s students were still rubbing the sleep from their eyes, dusting off their backpacks and trying to slap themselves awake, 16 WLU students were competing among various other student actors in the region for a chance at the Irene Ryan Scholarship. The competition took place from Jan. 12 until Jan. 16 at Towson University in Maryland.

West Liberty University's men's basketball team defeated Ohio Valley University with a final score of 112-55.
Lady Hilltoppers v. Ohio Valley University
WLU's women's basketball team took home a win Feb. 4 against Ohio Valley University with a final score of 88-55.
